Terms of Use
Version 2026-09-28 · Effective September 28, 2026
These terms cover Top Cheddah: the iPhone and iPad app, the Android app and this website. By applying for or using Top Cheddah you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Top Cheddah.
1. The beta
- Top Cheddah is in a private, invite-only beta, and it's free. Features will change, some things will break, and we may pause or end the beta at any time.
- We read every application ourselves and may decline one without giving a reason.
- The iPhone and iPad app comes through Apple's TestFlight, and the Android app installs from this website. Apple's and Google's own terms cover their parts.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older. Top Cheddah is for parents, guardians, coaches and other adults, and we don't make accounts for children.
- Your account is the email address we approved, and only that address can sign in. Keep access to it, and keep your password, if you set one, to yourself.
- One person per account. Don't share your account or sign in for someone else.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else is using it, email topcheddahservices@gmail.com right away.
3. Follow your own team
- Top Cheddah is for following your own player, not for scouting opponents.
- Each account follows one team per division. A division is the same league, season, age and level: U14 A and U14 B are different divisions, and different leagues never overlap.
- If you pick the wrong team, you can switch to another team in the same division once per season. After that, reply to your welcome email and tell us what changed.
- Two players in one division, or team staff who need more than one team? Email us and we can allow it for your account.
- Names you add to jersey numbers are for your own player's team. Don't use them to keep track of players on other teams.
- The apps enforce some of this, and we check the rest ourselves. Either way, the rule applies from the day you agree to these terms.
4. How we enforce the rule
We use four steps. Every step after the first is decided by a person, not by software.
- Watch. Our safeguards automatically note accounts that try to follow, or name players on, more than one team in a division. Being noted changes nothing on its own.
- Warn. If a review shows scouting, we email a warning and remove the extra teams and names, keeping one team per division.
- Suspend. If it continues after a warning, we suspend the account, and it can't sign in.
- Remove. If it continues after a suspension, we delete the account, and it can't apply again.
We may skip steps for serious misuse, such as harassing a family, coach or player, or trying to identify a child. If you think we got it wrong, reply to our email and we'll look again.
5. Kids' privacy
- Everything public in Top Cheddah shows players by jersey number only. We never publish a child's name.
- Names you add for jersey numbers are private to your account. No other user, coach or league sees them.
- Don't use Top Cheddah to contact, locate, track or identify a child, and don't share screenshots that pair other children's jersey numbers with their names.
- Keep children's full names, schools, addresses and photos out of applications and reports. A report's screenshot is only for showing us a problem in the app.
6. Where the data comes from, and how accurate it is
- Schedules, scores and statistics come from the leagues' public records: GameSheet for the Eastern Hockey Federation, the Bay State Hockey League, the South Shore Conference, the New England Girls Hockey League, the Premier Hockey League of New England, MYCGL, the South Coast Hockey League, the NH Granite State League, MEAHA (Maine), VSAHA (Vermont), the Connecticut Hockey Conference and the Mountain Valley Hockey League; vaHockey for Elite 9; and Sprocket Sports for Bay State U6 and U8C.
- Top Cheddah isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any league, association, club, GameSheet, vaHockey or Sprocket Sports. Their names and club crests belong to them and are used only to identify teams and sources.
- League data can be late, incomplete or wrong. Scorekeepers enter it by hand, leagues correct results after the fact, and live scores can lag or stop.
- Always confirm game times and rinks with your team. Don't rely on Top Cheddah where a mistake could cause harm.
- If something looks wrong, use Report a problem in the app. Where a league doesn't publish something, the app says so instead of guessing.
7. No warranty, and limited liability
- Top Cheddah is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.
- To the fullest extent the law allows, Top Cheddah and the people who run it aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, missed games or travel costs, arising from your use of Top Cheddah.
- Our total liability for any claim about Top Cheddah is limited to fifty U.S. dollars ($50).
- Some places don't allow these limits, so some of them may not apply to you.
8. Leaving, and deleting your account
- You can stop using Top Cheddah at any time. To delete your account, use Delete account in Settings, in the app or on this website. We delete your account, follows, player names, Terms record and reports, including any screenshots. Your approved email address stays on the invite list so you can sign in again later; to be taken off it too, email topcheddahservices@gmail.com from the address you signed up with.
- We may suspend or end your access as described in section 4, or when the beta ends. If we end the beta, we'll email you first.
- Even while you keep your account, screenshots you attach to a report are deleted after 30 days, and the detailed app and device snapshot after 90 days. The Privacy Policy lists what else we keep and for how long.
- The apps tell our servers your app version and build and your phone's model and operating-system version; the Android app also sends its screen, chip, memory and performance class. The Privacy Policy explains how we use them.
9. Changes, governing law and contact
- We may update these terms. When we do, the version at the top changes, and if the change matters, the apps ask you to read and accept the new version before you can follow teams again.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts.
- Questions about these terms: topcheddahservices@gmail.com.
